OMG! So many people think bears are cuddly and friendly but they are not. Bears can swim and they swim fast! So do not think because your in a boat or a canoe a bear would not come. Bears also can smell from 30 miles away. So if you have something smelly in your bag and you place it somewhere and leave it there for a long time a bear will come and take it. Like one time when Homestead was in vagabond I left my book bag in my hogan, and when I came back my book bag was ripped everywhere. So when I came home I found out my sister put my watermelon lip gloss in my book bag. I was like so that is why a bear ripped my book bag! That proved to me and my bunk mates that a bear can smell from 30 miles away. Also I share a hogan with Nyasia,Tykeria,and Chelsey. So our counselors told us that there was a bear sitting outside our hogan for four hours. They told us to search our bags, and Nyasia found her deodorant Tykeria found cucumber and me and Chelsey had our lip gloss. That is another piece of evidence that bears can smell from 3 miles way! So we were going back to small camp to pack what we need because we were going to sleep in the dinning hall and we find the counselors hogan trashed. We found out that they left their trash in the edge or their hogan and a bear came and trashed the edge of their hogan.
