Foods
The first foods we ate when we arrived at Wildcat were Veggie Wraps. Each of us had to make our own choosing from a selection of carrots, lettuce, cucumbers, and cheese. I mixed everything together because I felt that the food wasn't going to taste good at all. It didn't turn out well as my stomach did not want to eat that Veggie Wrap. I saw others struggling to finish it, especially the ones who put carrots in their Veggie wraps. it seems that it were all we were going to eat . For dinner, we made Ramon and mixed them with mashed potatoes and mini wienies. Personally, it was absolutely disgusting. The worst part was the instructors did not want to waste food so we had to pass it around in a circle while someone else who had their head down was singing music. When that person stopped singing, the person who had the pot would have to eat a chunk of the Ramon Bombs. Fortunately, we had one person who offered to eat the rest of the chunks for the rest of the groups. we're not impressed with the foods we ate the first day. I was worried.
The second day was better ,we ate cereal which was good. we used powdered milk. And you can't put too much or too little, either way the milk always tasted watery. For lunch, we had crackers and bread you could decide . The majority of the group liked it since the bread disappeared quickly. A few people hated peanut butter and jelly and just ate bread with cream cheese. For dinner, we ate Macaroni and Cheese. The food had to be altered in some way to make it healthy. Peas and tuna were added to the mac and cheese. Although the mac and cheese were good. The group liked the mac and cheese some complain for the pea or the tuna. The rest of the days were pleasing as the instructors got to know what foods we liked and appealed to them more with the foods they made next. Some of these foods included hot dogs, chips, pasta with the sauce and ravioli.
Food shopping was a particularly fun event for the group. It was one of the only times we came in contact with electricity, air conditioner, and good food. Although we didn't get to select the foods we wanted, it was nice to see how the instructors selected our food. I got frustrated when the instructors were selecting foods from non-known brands or the group would like to say "Shop Rite brand. "We also got to play around and post price stickers on people's back. One of the instructors posted a stick on my back. It wasn't a very good idea for him to do that because every time i patted him on the back, he continued to look at his back to see if there were any stickers. I had a personal experience in Best Buy when I had to use the bathroom. The instructor described my gaze when I entered there as "my eyes glowed and my mouth opened as soon as I stepped through the door and saw all the technology.
One of the most exciting events was the cook-off. There were three groups that had to create meals that appealed to appearance, taste, and creativity. The group that consisted of Laquell, Crystal, Paul, Maya, and Maximo. They won the appearance category. Our group that consisted of me, Destiny, Aimee, Destiny, Joshua and Nyrel. We won the creativity category. The instructors won the taste category. It was a very fun day.
