My name is Candice Sanchez. I am fifteen years old going on 16. My birthday is August 19. I currently live in the Bronx. I have two sisters and four brothers. I live with my mom, and I have fat cat named Ecim. If you haven't noticed, his name is mices spelled backwards. I know, it's genius: my mom and brothers thought of that name. What makes me special and interesting is my personality. I'm a kind and loving person. I get along with people very well and I'm very helpful. But don't let my appearance fool you. I’m not a person you can take advantage of. There are some effects I have on my friends and family. For example, I had a friend that had a bad boyfriend. She was obsessed with him. She told me that she really liked him, so they started dating. Every day when she came to school she always had a story to tell me. I kept telling her that he is just using you to have sex but she never listened to me. One day she caught him cheating. She didn't tell me right away because she thought I was going to rub it in, but I'm not that type of person. I just told her what she needs to do next time. She thanked me, and took my advice.

A couple adjectives that describe me are reactive, open minded (meaning I like to share what I'm thinking) and funny. I'm afraid of heights and I'm very energized. I love to read and write. High school really changed my life. For me, middle school was the last time I could have had fun. I did my work but at the same time I had fun. High school, however, is very different. I do a lot more work than I did in middle school. High school is no joke.  If I don't do my work, I might fail. When I was in middle school, I failed most of my classes. Now that I'm in high school, I'm an honor student passing all my classes with all 80's and 90's and I feel good about it. One obstacle I had to overcome was the pressure for me to do well in life. I know what I want to do when I'm done with high school but I have teachers that almost work me to death. They want me to stay after school long hours. It's a lot of hard work. But I'm always going to be Candice at the end of the day: the 15-year-old girl that wants to explore the world.
