The second day when all the participants arrived in Aspen, we had a welcoming celebration. After all the groups arrived at the opening banquet, we went outside to take a group picture. We then went back inside and Carlene made a speech to welcome everyone, which included volunteers, the host families, peer counselors, facilitators, group leaders, staff, and participants. We then ate dinner. They served us watermelon as dessert. After dinner was when the party started. We all danced and it was interesting because we all had a chance to get to interact with one another. The song, Get Bodied by Beyonce, ended the night at around 10:30. Afterwards we all returned to our host family’s homes in our groups.
