We started from Dyckman with our desintation of Alpine in our minds. We rowed across the river from Manhattan to New Jersey ,then anchored a few miles from Alpine to get ready for the swim test. We had to swim from the stern to the bow of the boats. While answering a couple of questions to make sure that we can have a conversation while swimming if needed. After that we went on our way and docked at Alpine .Which is located in New Jersey . we arrived there about mid afternoon. We had rowed for a couple of hours not knowing how to row but we did the best. None of us had ever rowed with 10 foot oars. Upon arriving we had to get the boats ship shape condition. While in Alpine came across a house that is believed to be General Cromwell's house. This is where he spent his time during the Revolutionary war in which he was on the British side. We also came across a lady with the ferrets . We asked to interview her but she refused to do so.

That night the cooks were Julian and Matthew from Onrust and Kelly and Dominque from Tijger. Both groups helped to set up for dinner like we were a big family. Dominique and Matthew cooked the mac and cheese and Kelly and Julian made the salad. Everyone ate the food . Before we ate we had to do a ritual. Like every night before we ate, we came together in a "chow circle" and had a moment of silence, followed by a "pulse" where everyone would hold hands and each person would squeeze the person's hand next to them when theirs was squeezed.

After our dinner we cleaned up at the bathroom. We had another meeting but this one was different. This new evening meeting or A.N.C.H.O.R meeting. Anchor meetings are made up with word s from the letters in anchor. A -appreciation for that day, N- new information that you learned today or any information about the following day, C- concerns , H- hope, O- for the shape of a bead that we awarded to ourselves or someone, R- resolution.
