~The Introduction~
When
I first arrived at Camp Interactive I had to leave certain of my personalities
in the City and bring a whole new attitude to this "new experience".
But at the same time I was facing a whole new world that I've never known
that I would ever do or ever had the nerve to enter into. I mean, I thought
I knew what to expect but when I arrived it was a whole different thing
that I had never expected. Now, you are probably wondering what did I expect?
Why did you go? What were the personalities that you left behind to have
more fun? What is Camp Interactive and what do you do there? Well,
don't worry because all your questions will be answered by me showing
you pictures, journal entrees, tips, and probably even recipes!
It was kind of hard having to leave everything I love to do and see and having to leave my family behind for a whole two weeks. This includes my brothers, my mom and dad, my favorite foods - like fries, and favorite desert - like strawberry ice cream, and my favorite soda - Sprite. Missing my everyday hobbies, such as singing, playing the piano, painting, writting scary books (which I just finished my 200 paged scary book called PAY BACK featuring the Worst nightmares, and I even like dancing. I also missed other things that I was used to doing every morning like, taking an hour and half in the shower in the morning and in the night. Taking the time to fix my hair and wash it in the morning. Hearing my collection of music and watching T.v. Just doing the usual stuff that everyone probably does when they start their day off. I also had to leave my job that I do behind, which is painting. My work with a bunch of other kids and I help out the community and paint their schools. The organization is called Publi Color. They have a web site on it. If you ever want to check it out it is: www.publicolor.org. Even though we get a stipend of 20 dollars a day, it is so fun. just missing that for 2 weeks is a turn off. But I decided to go to Camp interactive to try something out of the ordinary. It is kind of weird but the reason why I mainly wanted to go is because I wanted to do something that I thought that I could'nt do or don't have the strength for. But one thing that I knew that I would face from time to time, well mainly would face it every single day. Which is not having soda (Ha) Bugs, mosquito bites and getting lost. This is how I found out about Camp Interactive. One day when I came home from work painting a school, my instructor, named Vlodie had called me and said that she had to choose her four best workers which were my other three friends and I. Thier names are Diana, Ashley, and Kayla. She told me that we had the chance to to go camping for 2 weeks and afterwards make our own website about our experience, so here I am, dedicating this website to you, enjoy......
~The Arrival
~
When I left the "real" world and enter these woods with nothing but water.
I had finally said good bye to "Da Bronx" and Manhattan and everything
else. And had commited myself to the woods and the surroundings that I
needed to get used to so I could stay alive. After we completed a 6 hour
ride just to get to the adirondacks, we finally got here and that's
where we met our two outward bound instructors named Greg and Ralph.
