About me...

My name is Aida but my trail name is Precious. I was born in the Bronx  at Lincoln  Hospital and I'm Puerto Rican. My favorite foods are  baked ziti, rice, and chicken. I  like to exercise to keep in shape by doing swimming, running, and boxing. I also like to listen to rap, r and b, and rock.  On my spare time I like to  be with my family and friends. I'm very close to my family especially my mom  and dad. I can talk to my mom about anything and if I have  a problem she  is always there for me, I think she is a person who I can really trust . My dad is the type of person who you can ask a question  and he will  have a smart answer  to it, he's always pushing me to do what's right and cares a lot about my health.

When I grow up I want to be a marine biologist, a archeologist or a psychiatrist . I also want to  go to Tampa, Florida  and study Marine Biology because ever since I've been scuba diving I've like the ocean life and wanted to  find out more about it.

I was recently at a camp called camp interactive. I think my group was the best group, we were called the Wildcat Survivors. We were  called the wildcat survivor because we were all survivors from the camp and we put all our effort to it. It was a lot of fun and I would do it all again next year.

My Challenges at camp ...

I had many challenges  at  camp such as, using the bathroom in the woods, when I had to sleep in a tent for two weeks, meeting new people, taking a bath in the lake with no soap, drinking water from the lake and putting  iodine in it, going hiking from Tuesday and to Saturday, all together we hiked 20 miles, going canoeing for four days, that was about another 20 miles, doing rock climbing, and waking up everyday early around 7 or 8 am.  I think just about everything was a challenge for me, but I did everything  good and with effort.

My Best Times and Worst Times on the Trip...

My best time was when I went to visit the elderly people because I thought it was interesting to hear about the lives of other people. Another good time  was when the boys ran out of their tents because they saw a bug. Also the day when we finished hiking and we went to the horse farm to sleep.

Journal Entries...
Day 3     July 25, 2001

If by any chance I think that I can't  make  it or that I'm thinking negative, what I would do is just think about the positive things in life or the good things that have happened to me in my life. Sometimes we can say to ourselves, I know I can  do it, Ican't give up, and I have to keep going because if your thinking that your tired then you really are going to get tired so I just try not to think about it.

 Day 4    July 26, 2001

Today is a beautiful day here at Rock pond. Right now I'm sitting on a big rock with all my friends. We are just looking at the most beautiful sight, it looks like there's an  island in the middle of the lake, but it just another  big rock in the lake. The backround looks great too it has things such as big mountains covered with trees, and a whole bunch of pine trees. The lake is just so fresh and clean that I can see everything at the bottom of it and I can even see the fishes come up to my feet and tickle them. I think I'm geeting used to this place.
